The Backwards Burglar is an annual donation-based event hosted by Michigan Creative. We collect monetary donations in order to provide families in need with food, gifts, and decorations to enjoy the holiday just as everyone else would. The holidays are all about giving back, and we are calling on our community for help!
How you can help.
We are accepting donations and sponsorships through our GoFundMe campaign. Anything helps! All donations and sponsorships will be used to purchase groceries, clothes, gifts, and other requests from the family. All donations will go towards one of the many requests Child & Family Charities receives from families each year, especially during the holiday season. Every penny will go towards helping families in need, so please share this with all of your family and friends.
Do you know a family who could use some help this holiday season? Reach out and submit your story. Every submission is kept confidential and we will never reveal any information, so please feel free to submit your information. We do our best to help as many families as we can every year.
This year, we are partnering with a local non-profit, Child & Family Charities, to help cover one or more of the many requests they receive from families in need.
Child & Family Charities is a Lansing-based organization that works tirelessly to provide support to over 7,000 families and children in need each year. Their efforts are far-reaching and help to end homelessness for many. We at Michigan Creative chose to work with Child & Family Charities because we wanted to expand our reach this year with the current situation due to the pandemic. Although we may not be able to enter homes, we still want to support our community this holiday season and bring joy to those in need.
Want to help us reach more families?
Sponsoring a family is when you plan on covering the full cost needed to help provide for the families with everything they would need to make the holiday a success. The suggested sponsorship is $500 per family. This price will include the cost of food for the cupboards and refrigerator as well as the cost of Christmas gifts and any other needs the family may have. All money we receive will go back to Child & Family Charities to help as many families as we can this year.
